Riddle of the day 💬
You use a knife to slice off my head, then lay down and cry at your bed. What am I?
The answer is at the end of this newsletter.
Why did Burger King start liking everyone’s tweets from 2009?
I am not going to lie, as much as I try to be healthy, I love my cheesy fries and occasional cheat days. I was having this discussion with my cousins the other day about our shared love for fries and I was telling them how amazing it would be if someone invented sweet fries, you know, like a dessert. That’s when they told me about funnel cake fries from Burger King!
These carnival-style sweet fries were first introduced by Burger King in 2009, and after a long wait, they were reintroduced for a limited period in January 2019. Although everyone loved these fries, it was the way Burger King announced its re-arrival that really made everyone fall in love with the brand!
Starting January 23rd, 2019, so many people started getting notifications that Burger King had liked some of their tweets from 2009.
It left everyone confused, and curious. Was the Social Media Manager stalking their ex? Were they using Internet Explorer? The story went viral.
News websites wrote articles about it.
YouTube creators made videos about it.
Everyone started talking about it on Twitter.
In short, everyone wanted to know just why Burger King was liking their old Tweets.
Burger King finally gave everyone the answer by tweeting this. 👇
A simple yet brilliant strategy that helped Burger King create the buzz it was looking for. The fast food joint knew this would get people curious enough to make them start talking about it, helping Burger King create the perfect excitement it needed before dropping the news of funnel cake fries coming back.

In other news…..did you know that Linkedin has a “Featured Customers” option? Neither did I.
Not sure when Linkedin released this feature but it certainly isn’t very well known. Linkedin has a feature where you can include the names of some of your customers so that users can see it when browsing through your Linkedin. It is an instant way to improve your company’s credibility when you showcase that well-known companies are using your product or service.
Major SaaS players like Loom, Vidyard, and Scratchpad are already using this feature.
